The R-Word

In society many do not reflect on the use of harmful language and how it affects individuals. With that said, it is important to understand that there is a need to use respectful and inclusive language related to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

About Us

Our names are Kimmoni and Puviya. We are social work students at The Centre for Dreams. With the help of other co-op students and staff at the centre, we are running an awareness campaign in regard to promoting the dignity of individuals and creating awareness about the dehumanizing effects of the word “retard”.
